But what is a spinning reel? How is it different from any other reel out there?
Spinning reels are perfect for beginners. They are quick and easy to use; all you have to do is flip the bail, put a finger on the line, and cast, close the bail and then turn the handle to reel the line back in.
The spool of a spinning reel is at a 90° angle to the rod and sits underneath, making it slightly easier to cast – although isn’t quite as accurate. The advantages to spinning reels are endless: however, their mainly known for their versatility – you can use a spinning reel for live bait fishing, artificial lures, and many different types of tackle.

Material & Construction
The Abu Garcia Revo SX Spinning Reel is made to last. With heavy duty material imported into its construction the design consists of an Insert-Moulded C6 carbon body design and a one-piece aluminium gear box.
The IM-C6 body design incorporates a one-piece aluminium alloy gearbox, which is then insert moulded into the C6 carbon stem. What this means, is that those gears are kept in perfect alignment with the aluminium gearbox, but also caters for the compact and lightweight body construction.
The carbon material was chosen for its strong bonds between elements that ensure its strength and durability. An aluminum gearbox is effective in casting away any rust that can be caused by saltwater being oxidized. Simply put – it is rust-resistant.
More than that, the Abu Garcia Revo SX Spinning Reel combines the very best of the Rocket Spool Lip design and the Everlast Bail System. This type of combination allows for exceptional line management causing a flat line regardless of technique or outside forces – which is just perfect for those beginners.
The AM-gearing system showcases detailed machined gears that comfortably permit a softer feel and increased endurance. This improved feeling as a result of the gears and incredible strength are all caused by the spectacular machined aluminum gear design.
The aluminum machine gear allows for a really precise gear system, giving a good feel as well as a super durable gear system. Combined with this gear design is the COG gear design, which is computer optimized allowing for the most efficient gear system that can fit into the compact Revo SX reel.
Rocket Line Management System:
Combines the spool design, oscillation system and bail angles to provide better control for all types of line.
This system incorporates not only the spool design, but also the oscillation system and the bail angle – allowing for more line control and really focuses not just on how the line comes off the reel, but how it’s also brought back onto the reel. This is especially useful when using difficult to handle lines such as fluorocarbons.
The braid ready spool design allows you to tie the line straight to the spool without using a mono-filament backer. Making it a great reel for freshwater.
The Revo SX contains a carbon matrix hybrid drag system ensuring smooth drag with low start-up inertia, so it will help you to use a light line.
